In her remarkable act of compassion and service, the Country Chair of Trefoil Guild Nigeria, Mrs. Grace Frank Ojobo chose to celebrate her birthday on the 13th of this month with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bokos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The outreach brought together over 500 women and girls from the IDP community for a day of learning, support, and encouragement.
As part of the empowerment program, the women were trained on how to produce reusable sanitary pads. The training aimed to equip them with practical skills that will help them maintain proper menstrual care and also provide a skill they can use to support themselves.
There was also an educative session on menstrual hygiene, where the women and girls were taught the importance of maintaining proper hygiene during their menstrual cycle. They were guided on how to properly use, wash, dry, and preserve reusable pads in a clean and hygienic manner to ensure safety and long-term use.
The participants showed great excitement and eagerness to learn throughout the training, expressing gratitude for the knowledge and support given to them. In addition, disposable sanitary pads were distributed by Palang Kasmi Foundation in fulfilling a birthday promise made to the IDP
Trefoil Guild Nigeria, which focuses on service, empowerment, and reaching out to those in need. Mrs. Ojobo encouraged the women to remain strong and hopeful despite their circumstances.
She also called on the government and other stakeholders to continue supporting displaced communities by improving their living conditions.
